Lex McAllister, who was a contestant on The Bachelor in its 14th season, died Tuesday after an apparent suicide attempt at the age of 31.

Authorities report that they received a 911 call Saturday from a caller who said that McAllister had taken an overdose of prescription medication. The unidentified caller said McAllister had sent them a text saying that she wanted to end her life.

She was in stable condition when police arrived at the scene, but she had reportedly taken "a lot" of pills. Her condition later took a turn for the worse, and her family finally took her off life support.

McAllister was eliminated in the first episode of The Bachelor's 14th season in 2010, which featured airline pilot Jake Pavelka. She then went on to work for a financial planning and wealth management company.

Sadly, she's the second Season 14 contestant to meet with a tragic end; third runner-up Gia Allemand died in August 2013 after attempting to commit suicide by hanging herself.
