This week saw the final games for this year's NFL Preseason. With that comes the massive amounts of cuts each team needs to make to get their rosters to 53.

For the New York Jets, that meant cutting a young star that showed flashes of promise. According to multiple reports, former UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajun star Elijah McGuire is being cut by the New York Jets.

McGuire was drafted in the 6th round of the 2017 NFL Draft by New York. During his Jets career, McGuire ran 180 times for 591 rushing yards, with four rushing touchdowns. He also hauled in 36 passes for 370 and two scores.

His best game as a Jet came in October of 2017, when he racked up over 100 all purpose yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had 93 yards on the ground, and 38 in the air, with a rushing touchdown in the game as well.

McGuire will now have a chance to continue chasing his NFL dreams with another franchise, as he will now be made available to the rest of the league.
