Former NFL Player Busted in Louisiana With $100K+ Worth of Drugs

Just under a year ago, former Cleveland Brown Greg Robinson was busted in El Paso, Texas while in the possession of 157 pounds of marijuana. He was lucky enough to get slapped with a $5,000 fine and 7 years of probation - but no jail time. After his latest arrest in Louisiana, he probably won't be that lucky.
29-year-old Greg Robinson was a star football player out of Auburn, and was the No. 2 overall pick by the St. Louis Rams in the 2014 NFL draft. He played for the Detroit Lions in 2017, then finally the Cleveland Browns from 2018 to 2019. If the allegations out of south Louisiana are true, he's turned from running plays to running drugs.
According to a report from Sports Illustrated media partner Fan Nation, on Monday Robinson was down in Thibodeaux, Louisiana where the former offensive tackle owns several properties. That's when police pulled Robinson's 2021 Cadillac Escalade over for a reported traffic violation. The volume of illegal substances they found is substantial - but the variety is astounding.
According to the report from USA Today, police discovered cocaine, crack cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, Xanax and marijuana in Robinson's vehicle - but that was just the tip of this contraband iceberg. Investigators asked for, and received warrants to search Robinson's properties. Those searches reportedly turned up over $120,000 in drugs, including:
- Over 3 lbs. of crystal meth
- 1 Kilo of cocaine
- Nearly 40 lbs. of marijuana
- 4 grams of crack cocaine
- 227 doses of hydrocodone
- 48 doses of oxycodone
- 18 doses of alprazolam (Xanax)
Authorities also reportedly seized drug paraphernalia, firearm magazines and ammunition and a small amount of cash during the course of the search and investigation that applies to the case. Robinson has been charged with felony possession with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, hydrocodone, marijuana, Xanax and methamphetamine. He is currently locked up in the Lafourche Parish jail on a $315,000 bond.
