Fun Fiesta’s Being Cancelled in Shreveport Due to Weather
We all woke up to some sad news. We are all watching for those severe storms in fact several Community Liaison Officers with Shreveport Police took to their Facebook pages to warn our community.
CLO Jay Casteneda said "An Enhanced Risk for severe storms is in place across much of the region Thursday, as the threat will increase from mid-morning through the evening. Damaging winds, hail, isolated tornadoes, and locally heavy rainfall/minor to flash flooding are all very possible."

El Cabo Verde was one of the first restaurants to cancel their big fiesta since the party was in the park and scheduled to be outside. El Cabo Verde took to its Facebook page to say "Our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in the park has been canceled due to the threat of severe weather. We are planning a rescheduled Cultural Event soon. We will be open today at the restaurant and hope to see everyone soon!"
Even The State Fair of Louisiana Cancelled Plans on Thursday.
Yes, the power of severe weather can cancel even the most delicious deep-fried goodness. Here is what the State Fair of Louisiana said on its Facebook page. "The State Fair of Louisiana Spring Fest will be closed today, Thursday, May 5th due to inclement weather forecasted. We will reopen tomorrow, Friday, May 6th. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope everyone can stay safe and out of the weather today!"
