East Texas Group Bringing Back Ice Bucket Challenge To Build Homes For Vets
Everyone remembers the #IceBucketChallenge that helped raise money and awareness for ALS but now a local group is bringing it back in a different way this time helping veterans! Mercy's Refuge is the group in Smith County Texas that's hoping to spread awareness about homeless veterans and in turn building homes for these men and women.
The challenge just like before is very simple...
1. DONATE: THIS IS A FUNDRAISER
2. TAKE A VIDEO
3. POST THE VIDEO
4. SHARE IT & CHALLENGE YOUR FRIENDS.......TAG YOUR IT!!!
5. GET CREATIVE & HAVE FUN
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was able to raise millions for ALS research and I cannot wait to see what we are able to do for our veterans. The homes for the veterans are planned to be permanent but it's more than just homes it's a community! A Church, a community center, a resource center, trade skills shop, classrooms, community garden, barber shop, resale clothing store, farmers market, soup kitchen, walking trails, fishing pond, health clinic, and dental services is planned for the new veteran community.
Lets ban together as a community and change the lives of those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy everyday! #GetWetForAVet
