A spokesperson for Lena Dunham announced that the Girls star will undergo surgery for a ruptured ovarian cyst.

Dunham has endometriosis, a female reproductive disease that if left untreated can be life-threatening.

"Lena Dunham has been very public with her personal bouts with endometriosis. This morning, she suffered from an ovarian cyst rupture and has been taken to the hospital," her rep said in a release. "Lena will be undergoing surgery at an undisclosed hospital. We thank you for your understanding and hope that Lena's privacy will be respected."

Dunham said in February that she "won't be out and about doing press" for Girls since she'll be fighting a "rough patch" of it. Good luck and get well soon, Lena!
