On Wednesday, Fox announced that ‘Friday Night Lights’ alum LaMarcus Tinker will join the cast of its popular musical series ‘Glee’ this season, taking on the role of football player Marcus — and of soul-diva Mercedes’ new boyfriend.

One day later, news broke of yet another addition to the New Directions crew.

Former ‘American Dreams’ star Vanessa Lengies has been tapped for a recurring role as Sugar, a spoiled and tone-deaf new student at McKinley High. She’s described as a cross between a New Jersey housewife and Molly Shannon, who’s previously guest-starred on the popular musical show.

The third season of ‘Glee’ premieres Tuesday, September 20 on Fox.
