General Motors is recalling about 640,000 pickup trucks. The recall is due to a risk of fire, only in carpeted vehicles. There is a risk of the exhaust from Front seat belt pretensioners igniting the carpet in a crash.

The recall includes 2019 and 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and 2020 Silverado 2500 and 3500, as well as Sierra 2500 and 3500 models.

The majority of the vehicles were sold in North America. Owners should contact the dealer from which the vehicle was purchased for free repairs.
