Go Red For Women This Friday

This Friday (2/3) is Wear Red Day! The American Heart Association is excited to partner with Sportspectrum and Christus Health Shreveport/Bossier to bring Wear Red Day to northwest Louisiana.

Friday kicks off with a run/walk from the parking lot of Sportspectrum, starting at 7 a.m. They are encouraging people to come and walk, run and celebrate heart month.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, which is the reason the Go Red for Women movement is so important.

Go Red for Women raises awareness, encourages prevention and educates women on healthy steps they can take now to live a longer, strong life.

On Friday, they are looking to create a great visual display with red balloons, giveaways and plenty of excitement.

The American Heart Association are hoping you can stop by, participate in the run/walk, sign up to win a prize and celebrate heart health by wearing red on Friday. They have a number of local businesses and schools that will be showing their support and raising funds for our local Heart Association by wearing red! Join in and support a great cause!
