Friday, September 2nd, a special event is happening in Bossier. It's the Going The Distance 24 Hour Walk/Run for St. Jude! Last year they raised over $20,000 and this year they're aiming for $100,000. This may seem like a lot, but according to Kent Falting, one of the organizers of the event, "We could write books about the amazing things God did last year with the event." If you can't be in town for the event, they ask that you donate online through their website. It costs St. Jude over $2 million a day to run the hospital and they want to help take some of the burden off of them. To find out more, check out the event page on Facebook.

Going the Distance is an event designed to have someone moving on a track at all times for 24 hours. The event kicks off at the beginning of the Parkway-ASH Football Game and ends with a concert at 7 pm on Saturday night.

Last year was their first year and raised $21,193. The goal this year is to raise $100,000 for St. Jude.

Throughout the event music, food, drinks and fun will be provided for free. Simply make a donation to St. Jude and walk a few laps. If you make a $15 donation during the event you will receive a Going the Distance T-Shirt.

100% of all donations will go to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
