SRAC and Artspace have a great history here in Shreveport. They have been springboards for many local artists and art collectors in the area.

Why not try and broaden your horizons by paying them a visit, or by coming to some of their amazing events. SRAC and Artspace will be holding some truly astounding, and one-of-a-kind events, this week, through next weekend.

Parting the Veil with Adena Helm Exhibition Opening

Wednesday, September 18 - 5:00pm - 7:00pm
@ Central ARTSTATION
FREE

Helm creates a narrative with her visually layered paintings picturing Louisiana birds, African animals and even household pets.  Her work is full of symbolism as she uses the animals to depict different versions of how she sees herself and others with their varying personalities.

Songs of Survivors

Saturday, September 21 - 10:00am - 3:00pm

This workshop is designed to provide Veterans the opportunity to learn the craft of songwriting.  Participants tell service-related stories through lyrics and music in a safe, supportive and empowering environment. The experience allows participants to find power in their voice while developing and strengthening relationships with individuals who have shared similar experiences. Veterans can go to www.brmusicstudios.com/sos to register and find out more.

Take a walk with us.
