Gucci Mane has been rapping since the '90s, and though he got hot in the mid-2000s, he never achieved platinum status with any of his own records. Now, that's changed. Today (June 6), Guwop announced that his collaboration with Drake, called "Both," has officially sold a million units. It's his first song as a lead artist to reach that mark. Metro Boomin and Southside produced the track.

The advent of streaming has no doubt helped artists like Gucci achieve platinum status at a much faster pace. He was featured on Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles," a four-times platinum song that was no doubt propelled by streaming, but he's only gotten solo gold plaques for songs like "Wasted" and "Spotlight." Now he can bask in the success of his own first platinum track. It comes from The Return of East Atlanta Santa project that he dropped last year.

In case you missed it, hear the official remix with Lil Wayne. Congrats to Gucci and his whole team.
