According to Yahoo News, hackers may have stolen the Social Security numbers of every single American. A hacking group known as "USDoD" claims that they not only have everyone American's social security number but they claim they also have home addresses. Doesn't that sound unsettling?

How did the hacking group "USDoD" pull this off? "USDoD" hacked National Public Data and stole over 2.7 billion records earlier this year. Why is that a big deal? National Public Data, is the company that provides personal information to employers, private investigators, and any company that needs a background check ran.

The scary part is that no one really knows how big of a threat this data breach is. Officials encourage everyone to monitor credit reports religiously. If you have passwords you can change, change those passwords now.
