As much as we may love the idea of a "White Christmas" would it create a chaotic Christmas for Shreveport-Bossier?

According to NOAA.com, back in 1948, 14 inches of snow hit Shreveport which is way more than what paralyzed us in 2021 which was 9.5 inches.

It isn't common that we get snow that sticks around. Don't we all panic when snow hits? Cars end up flipped on the side of the road and people's carports and roofs caved in, it gets rough around here. Have we ever had a "White Christmas" in Louisiana?

94 years ago Shreveport had its first ever snow on Christmas day. 11 inches of snow fell on December 21st and 22nd and half an inch remained on the ground on December 25th. Which has made this the only Christmas Day of record with snow on the ground.

It all depends on how this El Nino grows and how long it lasts. Now, we sit and wait. The real question is can our current infrastructure in Shreveport handle more ice and sleet storms?
