How Old Is Too Old to Trick Or Treat?

Deacon Alexander, my 8 yr old son, decided that he was too old to go trick or treating this year.  It's breaking my heart!  Don't grow up so fast!!!

He's been hitting all kinds of milestones this year, and I am not a fan of it!  Getting dressed by your self is all fine and good, getting your own snacks and drinks - that's cool.  I'm not ready for this "I'm too big for dressing up, acting crazy, and getting a bunch of candy" stuff!  There has already been a casualty in the fight for childhood.  We've already lost the Easter Bunny, and he's asking some pretty pointed questions about Old Saint Nick!

Ricky has fallen on hard times. I guess I'm down to buying candy for myself like a sucker.  FYI if I can convince him to go, we will be at the Boardwalk Tonight!

What age is too old?  When did you stop trick or treating?
