Most people who travel I-20 in Bossier City would be in agreement that the stretch of interstate between Benton Road and Industrial Drive is one of the roughest patches anywhere in Louisiana.

Though most of us would be equally split on which side is the roughest. Half would say the east bound side with the other half reporting the west bound side would be the one to cause kidney damage.

Apparently the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has heard our pleas and they are about to do something about it. (At least half our pleas)

Beginning today,  Monday, October 17, the left (inside) lane of I-20 westbound at the LA 72 (Old Minden Road) interchange in Bossier City will be closed.

This lane closure is scheduled to take place through this Wednesday, October 19, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.

The purpose of the lane closure is to allow for DOTD crews to perform roadway maintenance.

Of course, this work will be performed weather permitting and the DOTD does ask for your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
