If Squid Game was in Shreveport, What Games Would be Included?
Folks, if you haven't watched Squid Game, what in the world are you waiting on?
Before we move on, I want to be ultra-clear... There will be spoilers to Squid Game, so like the game itself, if you continue reading, you are doing so by your own choice.
First, let me talk about Squid Game itself before we dive into my list of Shreveport's Squid Game options. Squid Game is one of my favorite TV shows of all-time. In fact, I would personally rate it at #3, behind The Office and Breaking Bad. Like many of you, I saw an endless supply of Squid Game content on all social media platforms over the past few weeks, and finally, I gave in and decided to watch the show.
I wasn't sure that I would like the show, but I wanted to give it a shot. After all, it's the biggest Netflix Original of all time. I was worried that I wouldn't understand the content, since it is a Korean TV show, and also, I was sure I wouldn't be able to watch comfortably with the english voice over.
By the end of the first episode, I was absolutely hooked and all of my doubt was put to rest immediately. I watched the entire show in a day, and I can't stop thinking about it.
So for my Shreveport list to make sense, even to those who haven't seen the hit TV show yet, I need to briefly explain what the actual Squid Game is. The battle royale-style tournament features hundreds of participants, with only one winning the grand price of about $38,000,000. The game features six rounds of action, where players are eliminated following a different children's game.By "eliminated" I mean executed on the spot. In the show, the games played are Red Light Green Light, Honeycomb, Tug of War, Marbles, Glass Stepping Stone, and Squid Game.
Some of those games, like Red Light Green Light and Tug of War, are very familiar to us here in America. Others are not.
So, having said that, I wanted to come up with a list of games that would most likely be featured in a Shreveport version of Squid Game. Since all of the games featured in the TV show are popular games played by Korean children, I figured we could come up with a list of potential games that we all know and love here in Shreveport.
Enjoy!
