Independence Bowl Set for Saturday, December 26

Shreveport, La. – The 40th playing of the Independence Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, December 26, at 4:45 CT on ESPN.

The Independence Bowl falls on a Saturday for the second-consecutive year, following South Carolina’s 24-21 defeat of Miami in 2014. In addition, the Independence Bowl will be televised by an ESPN network for the 24th-straight year.

“We are thrilled to have a game date on a Saturday and after 4 p.m.,” 2015 Independence Bowl Chairman Kyle McInnis said. “We hope this time and date will allow the fans to have a traditional college football experience, on a Saturday with lots of tailgating at the State Fairgrounds. It will be our first game after 4 p.m. since 2008.

“We really wanted a date that wouldn't require our local fans to take off from work to come out and watch the game. It should be a great Louisiana Saturday night.”

The Independence Bowl features primary agreements with the Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference, and has secondary agreements with Conference USA and the American Athletic Conference.

Sideline tickets are $45, while end zone seats are $30. Tickets can be purchased by calling the bowl office at (318) 221-0712, toll free at (888) 414-BOWL or online at independencebowl.org.
