Here's the best part of this whole ongoing conversation about the trash talk in the NCAA Women's National Championship Game...we're still talking about LSU's win, while most people have already forgotten who played in the Men's Final Four last weekend.

That's right, Women's basketball is overshadowing the Men's game at the end of March Madness this year. Which is great for the the whole women's side of the game, and specifically for Iowa and LSU, who played for the Championship on Sunday.

While LSU won 102-85, and set a Championship Game scoring record, its actually the way they won, not how they won. The fact that the Women's NCAA Tournament featured truckloads of trash talk is what kept a huge spotlight on the games. Especially when it comes to Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark.

Clark was dropping 40 point games all over the tournament. She set a tournament record for scoring in a single tournament, and was known for hitting shots that even made NBA legends take notice. But the biggest part of Clark's game is her trash talk.

Her mouth fires up her team, gets under the skin of opponents, and even gets her in foul trouble when she's talking to herself on the court...

Inside the NCAA tournament, it felt like Clark took it up a notch. She wasn't limited to just talking to herself on the court, she wanted to let other teams have some. Telling some opponents to "shut up" on the court, and showing total disrespect while refusing to guard some players. IT WAS AWESOME.

Now the friction comes in when LSU's star player decided to dish some of the trash talk back towards Clark after LSU locked down their National Championship win. Tigers' superstar Angel Reese used the "Joe Burrow Ring" celebration in Clark's direction, then when they stood next to each other for a free throw, Reese gave her the same John Cena "You Can't See Me" hand gesture that Clark had used numerous times.

That's when the whole trash talk of the tournament started to backfire. Up to that point, the media had fallen in love with Clark's ability to hit shots, and bump her gums at opponents. They were writing stories about her competitive fire, grit, and...well, trash talk. It was awesome to the media when Clark told opponents to "shut up" while she buried them.

But then Reese did it TO Clark, and the media lost it. How dare someone do the same thing Clark does back to her?

Once the hypocrisy was pointed out, they made attempts to show how it was "different". Saying things like "Reese did it after LSU knew they were winning" or "She sought Clark out"...well, yeah. Clark didn't tell Louisville players to "shut up" when Iowa was losing, they were up by 15. She did get fouls called for talking to herself, but she also aimed her trash talk gestures at opponents too.

Even though people on the internet were trying to put words in Clark's mouth, and project their opinion on her, she wasn't here for it. Turns out, Clark gets it. She knows that if she talks trash, others will talk trash too...and she seems to love it.

Have you ever heard a fighter say they love the taste of blood in their mouth? That's basically what I heard from Clark when she went on ESPN to DEFEND LSU's Angel Reese, and her trash talk towards Clark. This is why people love Clark...SHE WANTS THE SMOKE.

Clark told ESPN:

“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all. I’m just one that competes, and she competed. I think everybody knew there was going to be a little trash talk in the entire tournament. It’s not just me and Angel. We’re all competitive. We all show our emotions in a different way. You know, Angel is a tremendous, tremendous player. I have nothing but respect for her. I love her game...the way she rebounds the ball, scores the ball, is absolutely incredible. I’m a big fan of her and even the entire LSU team. They played an amazing game.”

If you have been defending Clark online by tearing down Reese, just know that Clark doesn't agree with you. If you project your opinions on this as her feelings, you're wrong. Basically, Clark would have done the same thing Reese did, and she knows it.

Clark also shared her feelings on the idea that Iowa would go to the White House to celebrate LSU's championship at the same time. Which was an odd idea that was floated by officials.

Look, Clark IS HER. She's on her way to becoming the GOAT. She doesn't need your help online, especially if its misplaced.
