Is 2019 off to a Bad Start if You Hit a Christmas Tree on I-20?
Am I cursed? As I'm headed into work early today, I'm thinking about the stories I'll be working on and all the things I need to get done today.
As I'm driving in the center lane just before you get to Hearne Avenue, I spotted a Christmas tree in the middle of the road. It was too late for me to miss it completely. I swerved hard to the left, but I still clipped the tree with my right front bumper.
The tree goes flying to the side of the road where it still sits. I don't think there's much damage to my car. I don't hear any weird noises.
So, I use my bluetooth device and call 9-1-1. The operator hears me says I-20 and she says "we know about the Christmas tree on the interstate." But I tell her I hit it. She says can you go back to the scene. I say no I'm on my way to work. I don't think there's much damage. When I get to work, boy do I find damage. The right front fender is dangling off. There's a hole in the windshield wiper reservoir and the fog light is also dangling.
So now, I'll have to get this mess taped up (thanks Greer) and get the car over to the body shop at Yokem to get the repairs made.
