Is Louisiana Home To The Next High Tech Haven?
The technology and software industry has grown rapidly over the last 20 years, and it seems like it's not stopping anytime soon. In recent years major tech companies like Tesla and Facebook have announced big moves to cities like Austin, Texas, moving away from California to find a new home for many reasons. While the tech industry continues to grow and search for new homes, could Louisiana have a city that appeals to STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) jobs?

New Study Shows Which Cities Are Best for STEM Jobs
A recently conducted study has compiled a list of 100 cities in America best suited for STEM jobs. These cities are determined by factors such as their existing tech industries, quality of life, quality of engineering universities, and even the number of tech conferences per capita.
Louisiana has two cities that the study would consider some of the best options for STEM jobs, but not the most ideal on the list. New Orleans is the 76th-best city for STEM jobs, and Baton Rouge is the 90th-best city.
Both Baton Rouge and New Orleans had a higher score in the categories of quality of life, while the professional opportunities and STEM-Friendliness categories for both cities were within the 20 lowest cities for STEM-related factors.
It seems like Louisiana has two cities that would be good for STEM-related jobs due to the quality of life in the area, but due to a lack of STEM-related jobs and opportunities Louisiana isn't likely to become the next Silicon Valley.
