Is LSU Legend Todd Walker in MLB the Show 25?

Todd Walker, Bossier City native and Airline High graduate, is an absolute legend when it comes to Louisiana baseball.

His #12 is retired by the LSU Tigers. He's in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and College Baseball Hall of Fame. His list of awards is too long to list, but some the highlights include: College World Series Most Outstanding Player, 93 & 94 All-American, Freshman of the Year, Louisiana Player of the Year and he was mult-time finalist for the Golden Spike Award. Oh and he was a 1st round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins (8th overall) in the 94 draft.

At the professional level, he had a sold 12 year career. While he never won any major awards, he played well enough to get consistent playing time & multiple big contracts from teams like the Reds, Red Sox and Cubs.

I say all that to say this: With MLB the Show consistently adding more 'legends' of the game, will Todd Walker be included in the new edition?

Is Todd Walker in MLB the Show 25?

Today, the latest edition of MLB the Show was released on PS5, XBOX and other gaming platforms. The Show is one of the best selling baseball simulation games of all-time featuring popular modes like Road to the Show, Franchise and Diamond Dynasty.

The Show is also great about teaching and exposing newer fans to legends of the game. In recent editions, there's a Negro League story that teaches players about the history of Negro League Baseball and their legends. They also include playable legends like Ted Williams, Babe Ruth and others.

Will one of those legends this year be Todd Walker? The short answer is...maybe. I know that's a pretty anti-climatic answer. But here's the deal - The Show, through out the year, adds players and cards to the game. So, while Todd doesn't appear in the initial release, he may be featured down the line.

Which, honestly, I think Todd will be featured at some point. Because, while setting up my player in RTTS, I noticed this little nugget on the retired player batting stance list:

This year, in the Road to the Show career mode, for the first time ever they will feature High School and College teams. Which is pretty cool to play out your career from the amateur ranks to the pros. Todd is one of the greatest college baseball players of all-time. They re-created his batting stance in the game.

So, at some point, it's pretty safe to assume that Todd Walker - Airline High & LSU Legend - will appear in MLB the Show 25.
