Mike VI, the mascot of the LSU Tigers, has been undergoing treatment for a form of cancer known as spindle cell sarcoma, and there's good news and bad news.

First the good news: LSU vet David Baker says the lemon-sized tumor that nearly shut the tiger's eye completely shut has shrunk completely since undergoing radiation therapy at the Mary Byrd Perkins-Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center. Baker tells The Advocate that a week or two might have been too late to save Mike.

Now the bad news: Baker says Mike remains terminally ill and has maybe a year or two left to live. We're all pulling for you, Mike, and we're hoping you prove everybody wrong!
