Here in Texas, there are some very dangerous people waiting on death row for their punishment. These individuals have committed terrible crimes that deeply hurt their communities.

I was recently looking at an article from the Texas Tribune. They lay out all the faces of death row. As I looked at the photos and read the stories, two horrible cases stuck out. Here, we look at a couple of the criminals responsible for these acts.

Mark Anthony Soliz is a notorious criminal in Texas. His worst crime happened in 2010 when he killed a grandmother inside her own home. This murder was part of a bigger series of crimes that included other killings and many robberies. Soliz showed no sadness or regret for his actions, which makes him even more frightening to people. The courts gave him the death penalty quickly because his crimes were so horrible.

Brittany Holberg is another well-known dangerous criminal and one of the few women sentenced to die in Texas. She committed a shockingly violent act. In 1996, she killed an 80-year-old man by stabbing him more than 60 times. The brutality of her crime was so extreme that it shocked the community and anyone else who heard about it. Like Soliz, she was arrested and sentenced to death.

These criminals on death row show how strict Texas is about dealing with the most serious offenses. Their stories are frequently discussed because they are clear examples of very serious crimes.

Each is a sad reminder of the terrible things people can do.
