Louisiana Music Legend Johnnie Allan Releases New Song
Louisiana music legend Johnnie Allan has been busy lately in the studio recording his new single. He announced today that it is now available to all his fans and Swamp Pop music lovers.
Johnnie Allan is a true Louisiana treasure and has been recording, touring, and performing music for over 73 years. He started playing with a Cajun band when he was only 13 years old. Johnnie is now 85 years old and will celebrate his 86 birthday coming up on March 10th.
Johnnie was interested in Cajun music at first performing with Cajun music legends like Walter Mouton when he was 13 and then performing with Lawrence Walker. Johnnie Allan saw Elvis perform one time and decided he wanted to be in Rock and Roll music.
In the 70s, Johnnie Allan recorded one of his most iconic hits Promise Land putting his spin on the Chuck Berry hit. Here is Johnnie Allan performing this hit on a television show.
Johnnie Allan also has recorded some of the most iconic and legendary songs in Louisiana music history. He has recorded songs like Today I Started Loving You Again, Let's Go Get Drunk, Family Rule, The Ring That Shines, If It Don't Hurt, Melinda, South To Louisiana, I'm Missing You, Promise Land, A Stranger To You, and Just Remember.
Just Remember is a song that a ton of Louisiana people now use in their wedding ceremonies. The song is about a father talking about how he feels during his daughter's wedding day.
