Join the 46th Annual Battle of Pleasant Hill Re-enactment This Weekend
It was April 9, 1864. At this time Shreveport was actually the capital of Louisiana. America has been divided into opposing forces as part of the American Civil War.

As part of the Red River Campaign, Union forces have marched into northwest Louisiana, and in DeSoto and Sabine parishes, they are met by Confederate forces led by Major General Richard Taylor.
In a continuation of the previous day's Battle of Mansfield, in what's been described the largest battle fought west of the Mississippi River, Confederate forces attacked the Federals in the Battle of Pleasant Hill, and sent them in retreat all the way to Alexandria.
