Bridge Closure In Southwest Caddo Will Make Drive Much Longer
Traveling in Northwest Louisiana continues to get tougher and tougher.
From the I-20 construction project in Bossier City to the lane-widening project going on in Haughton, things have certainly added to motorists' daily commute.
And now we get word from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development that they are advising motorists that beginning next Monday, February 26, the LA 525 (Colquitt Road) bridge over an unnamed creek in south Caddo Parish will be closed.
How Long Will This Bridge Be Closed?
This closure is scheduled to be in place for approximately six days, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform bridge abutment repairs.
This bridge is located near Williams Road, approximately one mile east of the intersection with LA 169 (Greenwood Springridge Road).
This will be a total road closure for all vehicles and all will need to detour.
What Are DOTD's Suggested Alternate Routes During This Outage?
Louisiana DOTD suggests motorists use the following alternate routes:
- Williams Road
- Parish Road 3
- Keithville-Springridge Road
As with all DOTD projects, this work will be performed weather permitting, so there is the possibility of project extensions or postponements
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
