According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, work on this massive undertaking is scheduled to be completed in late 2027, so we've still got many months of slight inconveniences until we're able to enjoy the fruits of this labor.

We'll soon have to endure another of those inconveniences according to the latest advisory from DOTD in regards to the project.  In that notice, DOTD is notifying all motorists that upcoming construction activities will require nighttime closures of the Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport near its interchange with the existing Jimmie Davis Bridge. The design-builder will be mobilizing equipment and setting girders for the new structure.

The notice goes on to give a schedule for these upcoming closures, stating that beginning on the night of Monday, March 9, all lanes of Clyde Fant Parkway in both directions will be closed to allow for these activities to occur. This full road closure will take place nightly from approximately 7:00 pm to 6:00 am on weeknights until Friday, March 20.

Additionally, on the weekend of March 14 and 15, Clyde Fant Parkway will be closed from 7:00 pm on Friday, March 13th until 6:00 am on Monday, March 16th.

Drivers will be suggested to detour via Arthur Ray Teague Parkway and over the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge (LA 3032).

All work will be performed weather permitting.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
