October 27th is shaping up to be one of the most special nights of the year, and if you know me, you know my favorite spooky-season dinner is officially back!

For a decade now, the powerhouse duo of Chef Gabe and Chef Lalo at El Cabo Verde in Shreveport has been creating one of the most unique, sought-after dining experiences in Northwest Louisiana: their annual Día de Muertos tequila dinner.

This year hits differently, though, because we are celebrating a huge milestone, El Cabo Verde's 10th Anniversary!

For 10 incredible years, these chefs have brought an unmatched level of passion and authenticity to our local food scene. Somehow, every single year, this tradition manages to get even better. Last year, they even brought in two distinct teams straight from Mexico, one dedicated entirely to artisanal tequila and the other focused on rare vanilla.

If you’re a total food nerd who loves feeling like Anthony Bourdain discovering new culinary hidden gems, this event feeds right into that beautiful delusion! My absolute favorite part? You don't have to buy a plane ticket to taste the authentic, deeply rooted flavors of Mexico.

In honor of a full decade of excellence, this 10th-anniversary celebration is pulling out all the stops. Guests will enjoy an extraordinary 5-course Day of the Dead-themed dinner, with each course paired with a specialty tequila expression and a handcrafted cocktail designed exclusively for the evening. The menu will revisit classic regional flavors, from bold cacao and bright vanilla to the rich, earthy notes found in northern Oaxacan cuisine.

To top it all off, the entire restaurant space will undergo a complete transformation. Expect festive, thematic décor reflective of Día de Muertos, a cherished Mexican holiday where families joyfully welcome back the souls of loved ones for a reunion filled with food, drink, and remembrance. It is an evening where tradition, flavor, and culinary artistry come together beautifully.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 27th at 6:00 PM. Seats for this 10th-anniversary milestone will sell out fast, so do not wait!
