High-Traffic Road To Be Closed Saturday In Caddo Parish
With road construction on I-20 in Bossier City beginning this week, you might have thought traffic could not get any worse. Hope you didn't put any money on that.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has sent out a notice that will certainly bring on additional traffic problems, but thankfully, it's far away from the issues being experienced in Bossier City and it's for only one day.
According to the DOTD, this Saturday, September 23, LA 169 (Greenwood Mooringsport Road) at the Union Pacific railroad crossing in Greenwood will be closed.
This closure is scheduled to take place from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and is necessary to allow the RR company to perform repairs to their tracks.
The crossing is located immediately north of I-20, and just south of Cemetery Road.
The DOTD goes on to highlight that this is a total road closure. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
As with all projects of this kind, the work will be performed weather permitting, so inclement weather could bring on possible changes not limited to delays, alternate hours or postponements.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
