Due to the sheer amount of rainfall in the area, Cross Lake has been officially closed to all motorized boat traffic until further notice.

Even the Cross Lake Shreveport Facebook page indicates the lake's closure until further notice.

Hopefully this is only a short-lived issue as the 33rd Annual Cross Lake Floatilla is scheduled for next Saturday, June 15 beginning at 11:00 am and a "lake closure" would be a party killer for sure.

Of course many will remember that in early April of this year, Cross Lake had to be closed for the very same high-water reasons.

As the Flood Watch continues for most of the Arklatex area, many will want to keep up with the current and predicted water levels of Cross Lake and that information is constantly updated by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on their website.

Just go HERE to stay up to date and check back on this website for information as to when Cross Lake is re-opened by the Shreveport Police.
