Highly Traveled DeSoto Road To Be Closed Starting Monday
Those who normally travel between Grand Cane and Longstreet using LA 3015, will need to begin the search for an alternate route.
In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, all motorists are advised that beginning this coming Monday, January 6, 2025, the LA 3015 bridge over Bayou Castor near the Village of Longstreet in DeSoto Parish will be closed.
This closure is anticipated to last until Thursday, January 9, 2025, and is necessary to allow DOTD crews to perform necessary pile repair.
This bridge is located approximately 1.8 miles east of the intersection with LA 5.
Due to the closure of the bridge, a total road closure of 3015 at the specified location is necessary and all vehicles will need to use an alternate route. DOTD does advise that for those unaware of alternate routes, detour signage will be in place.
This work will be performed "Weather Permitting", so inclement weather could postpone, extend, or alter scheduled closure dates.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
