However, there are times when the traffic count on Line Avenue most also be considered. That's what makes this recent announcement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development somewhat painful.

In their announcement, LADOTD has issued notice to all motorists that this Saturday, January 11, LA 523 (Line Avenue) at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing near LA 3132 in Shreveport will be closed.

This crossing is located just north of the intersection with Ashley Ridge Blvd.

This closure is anticipated to last from approximately 7:00 am to 5:00 pm for one day, and is necessary to allow crews from Union Pacific to perform maintenance to the railroad crossing.

DOTD highlights that this is a total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to use an alternate route and detour signage will be in place.

This work will be performed "Weather Permitting" so inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter the scheduled work day/hours.
