Back in early April, Shreveport residents and food lovers across the entire state were practically beaming with excitement when the huge news dropped: the legendary MICHELIN Guide was finally coming to Louisiana!

We knew it was a big deal, and now, after months of holding our breath, the results are in.

The MICHELIN Guide Arrives in the American South

This wasn't just a win for Louisiana; it was a historic moment for the entire region. MICHELIN and Travel South USA announced a new Guide edition covering Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the pre-existing Atlanta guide.

The culinary landscape of the South has been recognized on the world stage, and Louisiana is leading the charge.

New Orleans Secures a Historic Two-Star Win

We've been waiting a long time to see which local restaurants could rise to the level of MICHELIN recognition, and the results are stunning. Foodies and followers of the Louisiana food scene were absolutely shocked in the best way possible. One of New Orleans’ biggest dining names earns a remarkable Two MICHELIN Stars.

This is a massive, unprecedented first for the entire American South! Additionally, an under-the-radar Mid-City gem was also instantly put on the map with its own Star.

Meet Louisiana’s MICHELIN-Starred Restaurants

The official press release confirmed that three New Orleans restaurants were honored. Emeril’s Restaurant made history with Two Stars, signifying that the personality and talent of the chef are evident in expertly crafted, refined, and inspired dishes. Saint-Germain and Zasu each earned One Star, a tribute to their use of top-quality ingredients and consistently high standards.

Why Shreveport’s Time is Coming Soon

Sure, several Shreveport residents might be feeling a bit bummed that their favorite local chef didn't snag a Star this time around. But let's keep it real: this is just the beginning!

This first batch of recognition proves that Louisiana has the culinary firepower. We have tasted the food here in Shreveport, right? Exactly. For now, we celebrate our Crescent City winners and look forward to the next round. Shreveport will produce a MICHELIN-Starred restaurant; it’s just a matter of time.
