
Body of Missing Louisiana Man Found in Red River After Boating Accident
A search for a Louisiana man reported missing on Red River began late Saturday night, April 18, and ultimately ended with the discovery of his body on Monday, April 20.

In a report from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, we learn of their investigation into this fatal boating incident on Red River in Rapides Parish.
From what we've learned, Gregory S. "Shane" Kile, 45, of Deville, was reported missing in the Red River near Pineville around 11:30 pm on Saturday, April 18. LDWF, along with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, Pineville Fire Department, the Alexandria Fire Department, and the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, immediately began searching.
Mr. Kile's Body Was Finally Discovered After More Than 24 Hours of Searching
After an exhaustive multi-hour search, the body of Mr. Kile was recovered from the Red River around 8:00 am on Monday, April 20. His body has been turned over to the Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office to determine an official cause of death.

At the onset, as LDWF agents began the investigation and search, they learned from survivors of the boating accident that three boaters had departed the Buhlow Recreational Landing on the Red River around 9:00 pm on April 18.
Shortly After Launching, The Boat Struck A Rock Jetty Causing It To Capsize
Shortly after launching, the vessel struck a rock jetty, which caused the vessel to capsize and sink forcing the three occupants into the water. Two of the boaters were able to swim to safety and call for help.
The LDWF Enforcement Division will be the lead investigative agency for this fatal boating incident. The three boaters were not wearing personal flotation devices at the time of the incident.
