Taco Wars 2026: Official Date and Location for Shreveport’s Taco Fest
Get your taste buds ready, Shreveport-Bossier! It’s officially time to start counting down the days because the biggest taco festival in Louisiana is heading back to our neck of the woods.
Taco Wars has become an absolute staple for the Ark-La-Tex, drawing in foodies from all over East Texas and Louisiana to celebrate the absolute best in Latin culture, music, and, most importantly, world-class tacos.
On Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, we are taking over the iconic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM for a day of "comida y comunidad" (food and community). This isn't just a festival; it’s a massive celebration of the heritage that makes our city so vibrant.
We’re talking about local taquerias going head-to-head, artisan sweet treats, ice-cold beer, and margaritas that are perfect for a spring afternoon in the 318. Plus, there will be epic live bands keeping the energy high all day long.
One of the things I love most about Taco Wars is the heart behind it. This event is built to support our local vendors. In fact, 90% of all taco and treat sales go directly back to the vendors, with the remaining 10% helping to fund the festival so we can keep the tradition alive.
Admission is completely FREE, but you’ll want to load up on Taco Tickets once you arrive to get your hands on the food. Each ticket costs $1, and you can grab them at various kiosks throughout the festival.
Most tacos will range from 3-6 tickets, while those legendary sweet treats go for 3-10 tickets. Just remember: once you buy your tickets, sales are final—but trust me, with the lineup we have coming, you’re going to want to spend every single one!
Whether you’re coming for the salsa, the competition, or just the community vibes, Taco Wars 2026 is going to be one for the books. We'll see you at the Municipal!
