Dallas Cowboys Fans Didn’t Like New Owner Jerry Jones 35 Years Ago
Dallas Cowboys fans get lots of hate, part of it is caused by the team’s nickname ‘America’s Team.’ Others dislike the Cowboys because they have had lots of success in their history including 5 championships in 1972,1978, 1993, 1994, and 1996.
But since the 1996 Cowboys, fans have been eager to get back up on top. While it doesn’t look like it will happen this year, it would be nearly impossible now that starting QB Dak Prescott is out for the rest of the year. But regardless of injuries, Cowboys fans are getting fed up with the team's leadership and that starts at the top with owner, Jerry Jones.
Have Dallas Cowboys Fans Ever Liked Jerry Jones?
It was back in February of 1989 that Jerry Jones finalized the purchase of the Dallas Cowboys for $140 million dollars. The investment has paid off in a big way as the team is now valued at $11 billion dollars. But it still leaves fans wondering if their owner has what it takes to put the pieces together for another championship run.
While the team has been a good investment personally. There is a video shared from NBC DFW, showing that fans were not too happy when Jerry Jones first bought the team.
Cowboys Win Games and Complaints Will Stop Immediately
One thing I have learned about sports is that all the doubters and hate come out when the team is struggling. No one is talking smack when your team is winning, except for the ones that are jealous.
If Jerry wants fans to quit talking about how he is the problem, he needs to figure out how to get this team to start winning football games and it needs to happen asap. But, as mentioned, this season is more than an uphill battle without your starting quarterback.
