
Blanchard Man Arrested With the Help of K-9 Unit for Carjacking
A suspect was arrested Tuesday morning after a reported violent carjacking in Caddo Parish.
Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office responded to Glenn Road in Blanchard after a it was reported that a couple had come to the doorstep of a home, saying they had been robbed.
Deputies showed up to the scene and spoke with the victims, who reported that a man had carjacked them. They went in to further detail telling CPSO that they knew the man, and had given him rides before. During the robbery, the male victim told Deputies he was hit in the back of the head with a weapon.
Deputies notified the Shreveport Police Department and the search began. CPSO contacted the Real-Time Crime Center, where they checked surveillance footage from cameras in the area of the carjacking.
Shortly after the search started, they found the stolen car, and Shreveport Police Department started the chase near Roy Road. The chase continued from Hilry Huckaby Road onto North Lakeshore Drive where CPSO joined the chase.
The suspect, later identified as 36 year-old Denzel Thomas, eventually stopped on Rainer Street near Dellwood Drive, where he was confronted by a Shreveport Police K-9 officer and surrendered.

"Thomas was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center and booked on multiple charges, including carjacking, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is ongoing."
