Burlington Coat Factory in “South Park Mall” Shutting its Doors
It probably doesn't come as a surprise to learn you can't always believe everything you see or read on social media. It was bad enough people just 'putting anything out there', but now with AI, you can't believe it, even when you see it with your own two eyes.
What Social Media is Saying
There have been several posts online speculating about the Burlington Coat Factory location in south Shreveport, in the old South Park Mall, now Summer Grove Baptist Church. Some posts on social media are saying that Burlington Coat Factory is having to move out so Summer Grove Baptist Church can open a new Family Activity Center. Well... only part of that is true.
What is Really Happening(?)
The bad news for bargain hunting shoppers in south Shreveport is that yes, Burlington Coat Factory on Jewella is, in fact, closing. KEEL News reached out to Burlington personnel on Tuesday morning and was told that the store will be shutting its doors on Friday, April 25th.
Burlington store personnel told KEEL News that the store was leasing space from Summer Grove Baptist Church, but that the church wanted the space back.
KEEL News then reached out to Summer Grove officials who said "that isn't true." When asked if the church had plans for that space, Van Lewis, Summer Grove Business Administrator told KEEL News, "We'd like to lease the space out again."
So, if you're looking for some prime retail space, and can fill 64,000 square feet, you might want to contact Summer Grove Baptist Church. Drew Brees? Maybe another Surge Entertainment Center?
