Caddo Correctional Center Booking Photos February 14th-20th

This week, 63 people were booked and kept at Caddo Correctional Center for various crimes.

One of those booked was taken in for an attempted murder.

Last Friday, Shreveport Police Department responded to a reported shooting on Merwin Street.

When SPD got to the scene, they found an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The Shreveport Fire Department got to the scene and started life-saving measures before the victim was transported to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening at the time. Currently, the victim is in serious condition but is expected to survive.

Throughout the week, Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit conducted an investigation and were able to identify a suspect in the case.

After a short search, Rakeen Russell was arrested for one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

He was transported to the Shreveport City Jail without incident.

Another was a sex offender that got booked on gun crimes.

Shreveport Police received a 911 call from a woman reporting an armed man wearing a black ski mask near Theo Street.

The caller was in fear for her safety and was briefly disconnected from 911 before dispatchers were able to re-connect and gather additional information.

Officers arrived on scene within minutes. When the suspect saw SPD Officers, he fled on foot toward a wooded area. An SPD drone was deployed to help locating the suspect.

The suspect left the woods and Officers caught up with him. The suspect resisted arrest, forcing Officers to deploy a Taser. He was arrested shortly after. Officers found a gun believed to have been in the suspect’s possession, along with ammunition found in his pocket.

The suspect was identified as Terrence Lattin, who was already wanted by CPSO for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Lattin is a multiple-felon with prior convictions including sexual battery, narcotics offenses, and aggravated burglary.

Lattin has been charged with:

· Two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

· Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

· Resisting an Officer

· Failure to Register as a Sex Offender

· Additional outstanding warrants through the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office

Detectives located and interviewed the 911 caller, gathering additional information for the investigation.
