Yet Another Fire at Shreveport’s Vacant Jolie Apartments
Shreveport Fire Department Crews were dispatched at 11:39 a.m. on October 23, 2024 for the report of an apartment fire at the vacant Jolie Apartments.
Engine 7 arrived first on scene within 5 minutes and reported heavy smoke and flames coming from one apartment building within the complex. Overall, there were 24 units dispatched to this incident, including Caddo Fire District 5 for mutual aid response to assist in water supply for firefighting operations.
Crews were able to contain the fire to the one building and bring the incident under control. No injuries have been reported to citizens or firefighters. City of Shreveport Department of Property Standards responded to the incident at the request of Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Jr. and have demolished the unit where the incident was located to prevent any injuries from potential building collapse or rekindle.
Trespassers are prohibited on this property. The Shreveport Fire Prevention Bureau urges any suspicious activity to be reported to local authorities. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time by Shreveport Fire Investigators.
