Expectations for the LSU 2024 football season are high, but they will have to re-adjust after LSU running back Trey Holly and two others have been arrested for a shooting that took place Friday night in Farmerville that injured two innocent bystanders. Holly has been suspended indefinitely.

Detectives say an argument led to the shooting at the Union Village apartments. A man and woman were both wounded. Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates said a female victim was still in stable condition at a Shreveport hospital, the other victim was sent to a hospital in Monroe and is expected to recover.

Holly has been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of a weapon. He’s currently in the Union Parish Detention Center and his bond has been set $512,000.

18-year-old Jordan Jones and a 17-year-old were also arrested. Each one is also facing attempted second-degree murder. Gates expects his deputies will make additional arrests.

Holly is the LHSAA’s all-time leading rusher. He rushed for 10,523 yards in a five-year career at Union Parish. He helped the Farmers reach the state championship game three consecutive seasons.

In his freshman season at LSU, Holly carried the ball 11 times for 110 yards, but was expected to play a much bigger role in the 2024 season.
