Man Arrested for Sexual Assault in Shreveport Park

SHREVEPORT, LA- SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport police make an arrest in sexual assault at City Park

On November 19, at approximately 6 P.M., officers responded to the 2200 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop regarding a sexual assault.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that the victim reported being in the park when an individual approached his vehicle. The individual began tapping on the window. Subsequently, as the victim lowered the window, the suspect, identified as Gerald Flarity, 61 years of age, allegedly reached through the open window and grabbed the victim's genitals.

The Shreveport Police Department takes such incidents seriously, and an investigation led to the arrest of Gerald Flarity. He is now facing one count of sexual battery.

We encourage anyone with additional information related to this incident or other similar cases to come forward and assist in our ongoing efforts.

We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
