Shreveport's Max Chambers Shines On NBC's The Voice

There is nothing better than to watch a local resident succeed in a major way on the national stage. That is what is happening for Shreveport’s own Max Chambers.

The teen is wowing the crowd and the judges on The Voice on NBC.

The 14-year-old singer performed a powerhouse version of Stevie Wonder’s “Don’t You Worry ’Bout a Thing” during the Knockout Round — and he’s now moving on to the playoffs.

He is on Michael Bublé's team and he blew the roof off the joint. Many fans say this week's performance was one of the most exciting moments of the season so far.

National Spotlight Shines on Young Shreveport Star

Chambers’ performance didn’t just earn him a spot in the next round — it brought major national attention to Shreveport. His soulful, confident delivery wowed the coaches and audiences across the country, earning him the first-ever Mic Drop Award on the show.

This could lead to Chambers getting the honor of being in the Rose Parade on New Years Day. Viewers will be voting on the Mic Drop award winner for this amazing honor. Final voting for this award will be on the November 24 episode.

Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé Praise “A Star Is Born”

Chambers’ performance even had Snoop Dogg out of his seat, singing along and shouting praise. “Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on and let me stand! I got to take my glasses off!...A star is born, man,” Snoop exclaimed, according to Billboard.

Coach Michael Bublé calls Max one of the frontrunners to win this entire competition. “For my money, Max is a frontrunner to win The Voice this year. He could be the youngest winner in Voice history,” Bublé said. “I really think Max Chambers could be the reason I’m a three-peat winner.”

The teenager is a freshman at the Caddo Virtual Academy (CVA).

He is putting his showmanship on full display. If you have seen his performances you can clearly see he has charisma and great command of the stage.

With millions of viewers watching and the Rose Parade opportunity ahead, this rising Louisiana star is putting Shreveport in the national spotlight — and locals couldn’t be prouder.

Legendary Musicians Who Rocked The Hirsch In Shreveport

Here's a sample of the legendary musical acts who have played Shreveport's Memorial Coliseum over the last 60 years. The Hirsch was basically the homefield for bands like Van Halen and ZZ Top, who regularly put the Hirsch near the top of their tours. For that reason, we're actually not going to feature them on this list, because they were basically "house bands" for Shreveport...and that's NOT a bad thing.
