Man Arrested for Second Degree Murder in Shreveport Homicide
The Shreveport Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 700 block of West 74th Street.
Just after 5 p.m. on May 16, officers responded to a call reporting a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and commenced their investigation. Through their efforts, they have arrested 20-year-old Rodriguez Howard on one count of second-degree murder.
The investigation revealed that the two unrelated males were involved in a dispute over a female when Howard produced a firearm and shot the victim. This incident is believed to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
