
Shreveport Police Arrest Suspect in First 2026 Homicide
Shreveport Police have made an arrest in connection with the first homicide of the year near Mayfield Street and Roberts Street.
Following an investigation and interview by Detectives, Dwayne Lawrence Williams was arrested. As a result of the investigation, Williams has been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder in connection with the city’s first homicide of 2026.
Chief Wayne Smith commended the work of the detectives involved in this case, whose efforts led to the resolution of Shreveport’s first homicide of the year.
