Shreveport Woman Arrested for Assault With Crown Royal Bottle

On October 8, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM, officers from the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to 5338 Prentiss St. in response to a report of an assault and battery. Upon arrival, officers located the victim bleeding from her head.

The investigation revealed that Ellen Southall (DOB: 03/10/1965) had returned to the residence and entered into a verbal altercation with the victim. After several minutes of arguing, Southall unexpectedly struck the victim on the head with a Crown Royal bottle, causing a significant laceration.

Southall has been charged with Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Fortunately, the victim is expected to recover from her injuries.

The Shreveport Police Department urges anyone involved in a domestic dispute to seek peaceful resolutions and to contact authorities if a situation escalates.
