Shreveport Pools and Swimming Holes to Know Before the Heat Hits

Hot summer days are here and it’s only going to get worse. The Weather Channel says after we get through a couple of days of rain this week, temps are expected to climb into the mid to upper 90’s later in the week.

July started out very hot. It's going to continue heating up as we move closer to August.

For folks that have to work outside, this is a really tough time. Some jobs are miserable in this summer heat.

This heat can also lead to dangers in the car. Take precautions to avoid heat related tragedies.

With this heat ratcheting up, you might be looking for ways to cool off. This sweltering weather will have folks scrambling to find a great spot for a swimming outing. We have several wonderful spots in Shreveport and Bossier City to take a dip.

We will all be looking for places to go to avoid the heat. If you want to get outside for a bit and cool off, you might think about taking a dip at one of our areas many swimming holes.

Most of the city pools in Shreveport and Bossier are open. The Southern Hills and Airport Park pools will open soon. But these are some of the natural swimming holes people love to check out while enjoying summer.

Many of these swimming holes are free, but all of them are "swim at your own risk".

We do want to remind you that swimming in the Red River is not recommended. The current is too unpredictable and even good swimmers can get in trouble in the current on the river. There are also signs warning folks not to swim in the river at several Shreveport spots.
