See Damage from Violent Storms Across Northwest Louisiana

A strong storm roared through northwest Louisiana on Monday evening causing widespread damage across the region. The National Weather Service reports wind gusts topped 60 mph at some locations during the height of this storm.

Quarter size hail was also reported at some locations during this storm.

Trees and tree limbs toppled to the ground in several areas across Shreveport and Bossier. Thousands lost power during the height of the storm in the 5pm hour.

A resident in Anderson Island reports a transformer lit up and the power was out. Trees on powerlines were also observed.

A resident in the Pines Road area reports a tree limb fell across the awning of their home.

A Blanchard area resident reported trees down across a power line shortly before 5pm.

The YMCA at Knight Street and Preston shut down once the power went out in the area.

Shreve Island residents also reported numerous tree limbs down during the storm.

Damage reports also came in from folks living on Barksdale AFB with tree limbs down at several locations.

Residents in several Bossier neighborhoods reported trees down. This includes Shady Grove, Sun City and the Bellaire area.

Residents in the Highland neighborhood in Shreveport also reported several tree limbs knocked down.

Tree limbs fell on power lines in some parts of Keithville right at 5pm.

A home in Minden at the corner of Elm and Davis was damaged by a fallen tree. Minden has dozens of trees or tree limbs down across the community.

A tree fell blocking the roadway at Centenary and Lister.

A tree fell across U.S. Hwy 80 at the Bienville/Webster Parish line completely blocking traffic.

A resident also reports a tree down on 70th street at Klug Pines in west Shreveport.

The National Weather Service is also cautioning residents about another day of storms for the region on Tuesday.

Cleanup will be the order of the day today across northwest Louisiana.
