Shreveport Man Wanted for Brutal Domestic Attack Around Children

Shreveport Police are seeking a man after a woman was seriously assaulted and later pursued in a vehicle while attempting to flee with her children.

Officers responded after being called about an active domestic violence incident. The victim and her seven children were found at Ochsner LSU Health. Six of the children are under the age of 13.

Officers saw several welts, bruises, and lacerations to the victim’s arms, face, chest, and head. Investigators learned that Cedric Demery had allegedly been drinking alcohol all day before physically assaulting the victim.

The victim told officers she attempted to leave the home with her children, but Demery followed them in a vehicle and allegedly attempted to run her vehicle off the road while the children were inside.

Patrol and K-9 Officers went to Demery’s last known location on East Merrick Street and located the vehicle he had reportedly been driving. Officers searched the residence but found Demery had left before they showed up.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Demery on the following charges:

· Six counts of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment

· One count of Reckless Operation of a Vehicle

Demery remains wanted at this time.
